Combo Interface Ethernet / CAN-bus / RS232
WIENER VME / VME64x / VXI crates of the 6021 / 6023 series as well as PL500 power supplies can be equipped with interfaces for remote monitoring and control. The combo interface provides ethernet, CAN-bus and RS232 ports. In future NIM / CAMAC crates with PS236 power supplies will allow this option too.
All ports are outfitted with 4 x RJ45 connectors (1 x Ethernet, 2 x CAN, 1 x RS232, pin-layout) in order to allow use of standard network cables. All interface parameters can be programmed via the front panel of the crate / power supply.
- easy integration into existing local area networks (LAN)
- auto-switching 10M/100M
- WWW (port 80): simple control with integrated WWW-server
- WEB-browser (MS Internet Explorer and Linux Conqueror tested) to display main parameters (status, voltages, currents, temperatures, fan speed), and buttons for ON/OFF, SYSRES and fan speed change (pass-word protected)
- TCP/IP (Port 69): for SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) version 2c (Access control with community names) for full access to all power supply, fan tray and bin parameters
- all SNMP calls and parameters are provided in the WIENER MIB file
Allows integration into CAN fieldbus system. Up to 126 crates can be controlled within a network. In addition to the remote on/off and SYSRES (VME) the user can control and program remotely every crate parameter via the interface as (* depend on power supply type):
- Crate Identification
- All voltages and currents, Over- undervoltage trip off points (*)
- Current limit adjustment to lower levels than 100%, i.g. for module test procedures (*)
- Temperature measurements of air inlet and above modules (up to 8 sensors for the VME 6000 crate series possible)
- All status signals, error messages
- Average speed and individual speed of every single fan
- Configuration and adjustment (*)

all in one interface: 1 x Ethernet, 2 x CAN, with RJ 43 connectors and 1 x USB configuration-interface with type B connector
or alternatively
instead of USB a TELNET port which can be used as an additional connection to the RS232-port of a VME CPU with TELNET protocol in order to monitor boot messages and have BIOS access, outfitted with RJ 43 connector,
